Ok, I know this is weird but at 11:11pm (weds night) I was getting ready to play Michael Jackson (dont stop til ya get enough)and I thought to myself:
A) Wow, I'm really high up in this building at work?
B) How tall is Ryan Seacrest?
C) What is my favorite Michael Jackson song of all time?
YES, C. With all the stuff that has happened to MJ over the past couple of years, I've forgotten how really talented the guy is and how many really great songs he's done.... Ohh I have my favorite in mind, What's yours? and why?

Earth Day is coming,
Posted:Thursday, 04/17/2008 at 11:04pm by Brian Middleton
Earth Day is April 22nd Check this out........
10 simple ways you can save the world in a day:Take out the mail
Remove yourself from junk mail lists. Believe it or not, 100 million trees are felled each year to produce junk mail.
Crack a light bulb joke
No joke: If every household replaced one lightbulb with a compact fluorescent bulb, it would be the equivalent of eliminating the pollution from 1 million cars.
Watch the stars
Using appliances carrying the Energy Star can save the average family $400 per year in energy bills.
Locate organic produce
Use the LocalHarvest map of organic food producers to pinpoint farmers markets and producers of environmentally friendly, locally grown food.
Teach a child
Invest in our future by teaching kids the importance of Earth Day. Find fun ways to get children involved.
Park your car
Carpool or take public transportation to work once a week, and walk or ride a bike for short trips. Don\'t forget to celebrate Carfree Day.
Make yourself at home
Find an environmental group, volunteer in your community, and donate your unwanted but usable items.
Recycle that purchase
Spare the environment by recycling your old mobile phone or PC, after erasing your personal data.
Pull out the plastic
If every plastic bottle were recycled, landfills would be 2 billion tons lighter. Reusable bottles and water filtration systems make an even bigger difference.
Try something newspan
Take a closer look at what you\'re throwing away--it could have creative potential. View artwork made from discarded materials for inspiration. Then, make your own masterpiece.

Lets experiment
Posted:Wednesday, 03/26/2008 at 03:03pm by Brian Middleton
OK, I think were all in agreement here, there is nothing like seeing your favorite artist "live" in concert.. Ya get Great sound, maybe they will make a mistake, your packed together with a bunch of people you don't know...... GOOD TIMES.
as you may know George Michael is coming to town in July for a concert at the United Center. Tickets go an sale April 6th, 11am at ticketmaster, but lets try something different.
I took a call from a guy on the request lines once and he claimed to have the ultimate way to score great tickets first.
Now understand up front, I'm not saying TO DO THIS.. I'm just passing on the concept. If tickets in chicago go on sale at 11am, he would call ticket master in a market outside of Chicago and ask for tickets for the show here. He claimed by calling outside of the Chicago area, he never got a busy signal? If you're goin for George Michael tickets, let me know if it works..

Ok, Now I say this in the NICEST way... But, Has someone ever been telling you a story that you just know will take forever to finish???? I'll admit, I can be a little long winded at times, but I ALWAYS TRY TO HAVE A POINT. The next time someone starts a story from work that is "forever long or off topic" kinda slip in with "hey have you checked out 100.3 Love Fm?"
It will work every time because your taking them off the topic of the new toilet they had put in the basement and over to great music that we all Love. Now you have something in common..
Try it
Small but effective

How many Dogs?
Posted:Thursday, 03/06/2008 at 07:03pm by Brian Middleton
So as many of you know, I lost one of my dogs not long ago, a shepherd border collie named Ben. My other dog Shabba has been gone now for 6 months.. It hurts..... I didn't think we would be ready for a new Dog for some time but last week we fell in Love again. Not once, but twice!!! Two 8 week old puppies (Chow and Shepherds) brother and sister, that I'm sure will be a handful. They like carrying around empty milk jugs by mouth, peeing in the wrong places, and one has chewed up my wallet already. Ah, the joy of it all..... As I think back, This is why I got dogs to begin with. Now for names?...Anyone?

Fun in the sun?
Posted:Wednesday, 03/05/2008 at 10:03am by Brian Middleton
Took my family for a long Weekend to Wilderness in the Dells... What a time!!!!!!!!!! Yes they advertise with us and no I have not received anything for saying this... It's just a great place to go! A bunch of connected indoor waterparks, Tubes, slides, you never have to go outside, and the free towels you can use. Now I thought for sure I would turn into my parents, just wanting to sit and watch my kids go round and round. No way, my seven year old had to keep up with ME. Slide after Slide, it was great to be in-doors looking at the snow while floating around the lazy river. My 5 year old daughter has just discovered the water tubes now, she would scream the entire length of the ride (perfect pitch). Dad can I go again? A few of the smaller pools are like Hot tubs heated to 104 degrees and allow you to go outside (warm body, cold forehead) nice! Great get away if you've had enough of winter. If you can, book a Mon - Weds, Weekends tend to be booked solid.

What do you want????
Posted:Thursday, 02/28/2008 at 02:02am by Brian Middleton
One of the greatest things about being on the air in Chicago is talking to the listeners on the phone. Over the past few months, I've taken numerous calls from many of you excited about the Night Show, Club Love Prime Time, and the station as a whole. "I can't turn it off", "you guys sound great" and "These are the sounds of my Life" are all great signs. I want to say Thank-You from all of us for the kind words. But that brings me to my question. What do you want???? Were not done with the Night Show by any means... Sure, we've added Club Love Prime Time (M - F 9Pm), gave away Tickets to a hot show last week, brought you interaction from people partying around the city, but what would you like to Hear or be a part of on 100.2 Love Fm? Is it a song were not playing? A club you'd like us all to party at? movies, an outdoor event this summer? The bottom line, you're a big part of the station, we value your opinion. Shoot me an email with your thoughts.

Idol Winner???
Posted:Monday, 02/18/2008 at 07:02pm by Brian Middleton
Ok, The Idol tryouts are over, are you still interested? I found for the last two seasons, I've lost interest after the tryouts. Why? I guess nobody to root for.... A great movie, through character development usually provides us with a person that we want to root for. We want this person to get the girl, to win the big game, etc, the same for me is needed on American Idol. I need someone to root for. Remember the kid on the Idol tryouts who lived in his car? great character development! We wanted that to kid to go all the way, to overcome....They voted him out. I don't know who to cheer for this season..Do you?

Valentine day card???
Posted:Wednesday, 02/13/2008 at 09:02pm by Brian Middleton
Sometimes the best card on Valentines day is the one you make instead of buy.... The Idea? take Song titles from
100.3 Love Fm to use as Card Content. OK let's try one!!
Be near me?? or If you leave.. Get it, what you write inside is up to you but the card subject you can do yourself!! Let's try a couple more.. I feel for you, Ring my Bell, Another one bites the dust (ok, not that one). Aint no stoppin us now, take your time, something about you, Do you think I'm sexy?.. Love come down, Hot stuff, Love shack? (oops) Lets groove, If I can't have you. You get the idea, you can create an awesome Valentine's day card using Feel-Good Favorites as your topic.
A few to avoid, I'll tumble for ya, dancing in the sheets, promises, promises, dont' leave me this way, and Jungle Love.
Make a card for your Valentine, have fun with it and email me a copy, I might read it on the air........
Happy Valentines day

What?!?? Snow?
Posted:Monday, 02/11/2008 at 10:02pm by Brian Middleton
I guess I don't get it, somebody email me and set me straight. We are suppose to get snow!!! it's Ok we live in Chicago. It's normal, expected and in my case accepted. Hey, If anybody should be upset, it's me. I live an hour from Everything!!!The news people say, "OH...look out more snow on the way" SO WHAT!
I think because of our busy lifestyles we tend to forget what the snow really means..... Remember when you couldn't wait for a snow storm as a kid, SNOWDAY!!!!!!!!!!! How bout going Ice skating, I loved it so much I would stay on the Ice far after my toes were frozen solid... "Brian your feet aren't too cold are they?" (I would always say they're fine). How bout skeeching??? I was never dumb enough to do it, but it was alot of fun to see my friends grab onto a car bumper, lookin all cool as they went down the street until they hit a dry spot on the pavement. Those were good snow times!! Yep, Throwin snowballs at whatever, eating snow? makin the perfect snowball and seeing how long it would last in the freezer, ganging up on
Dad!!!!
Next time you're upset about the current snowfall, go outside with your kids or some friends and throw snow.
Make something out of snow, eat snow (oops maybe not) do something in snow. We've had 42 inches so far this year, thats up to your car hood!!!!!!!!! Go be a kid..

THE BIG GAME- What a "Feeling"
Posted:Saturday, 02/02/2008 at 11:02pm by Brian Middleton
What is the Big Game anyway, it's a "Feeling". Sure you may have a pool goin at work, 20 or 50 bucks at risk, but aside from that, this entire day spent on Football comes down to nothing more than a "Feeling". For most of us the Feeling isn't even realized until the end of the game when you get to say "my team won". Sure the commercials are entertaining and Half Time is (Half the Time), but we stick it out till the end of the game because of the "Feeling". If you think about it, our Station is set up exactly the same way. We play stuff to inspire that "Feeling" inside all of us. I can't tell you the number of people that call me everyday, saying thanks or, I found you guys, my wife loves your station, or whatever.....I just want to say that It means alot to all of us at the station in terms of helping you with that "Feeling", that Feel Good "Feeling". Good to know you can get that "Feel Good" feeling everyday on 100.3 LOVE-FM. Oh, and our commercials are a lot less expensive than that of the BIG GAME.

Man Bag anyone?
Posted:Tuesday, 01/29/2008 at 09:01pm by Brian Middleton
Is the man bag thing OK????? I'm really thinking about one...I was at the store yesterday behind a woman who was looking for change. She did the typical reach in and dig to the bottom, gave me the courtesy "I'll only be a minute look" and then proceeded to dump her purse upside down on the counter. Quarters on the floor, a few lifesavers, Kleenex, make-up, keys, half a snickers bar, two pair of sunglasses, an apple, a check book, an Ipod, I swear I saw part of a car bumper? This stuff is all over the counter and she is OK with it, Because it was HER stuff.... Its comforting to have all your stuff that close to you, at your finger tips, and nobody can take it because you've got it with you..... I think this is why many men are converting to the man Bag (available in assorted colors) We too want are stuff close, so we can solve any problem the day may throw at us......instantly!!!!!!!!! right now I just settle for a wallet. Only problem I can see, I'll have to buy matching shoes...... Man bag, Yes? No?

Your eating out and the waiter approaches and asks about the food, one minute later another waiter asks, then 2 minutes later another waiter asks......... Let me eat.........
A loud person in a movie theater?????
Nobody ENJOYS being interrupted, so WE NOW PLAY LARGE SETS OF UNINTERRUPTED MUSIC so you can listen longer........ Hey last night at 9pm, CLUB LOVE PRIME TIME, I played 12 songs in a row. It just makes sense........ It's like buying the big pack of batteries that give 30% more FREE..............It's FREE music you LOVE!!!!!!

Idol just Idoling?
Posted:Tuesday, 01/22/2008 at 07:01pm by Brian Middleton
Is it just me or is Idol softening??? Simon hugging contestants, people dressed in goofy costumes allowed to perform? Seems alot like last year with more filler!!!! ( a guy getting his chest hair removed) Do we wanna see that? Or is the show right on track... Listen, I like seeing the crazy auditions just like you but why do the ones with costumes, doing it for no other reason than to get on TV, get so much air time??? Get rid of them and put someone else on that may have some real talent that I can root for!!!! Either way, Idol is doing what it's designed to do. Make me watch... What are your thoughts?
Cheers,

Cat update????????????
Posted:Friday, 01/18/2008 at 01:01am by Brian Middleton
Ok, A while back I mentioned the new addition to the family, a stray cat..... Well, I was going to take it to the shelter, (I already have two cats) but based on the cats size, could have babies soon, I can't take it to the shelter now!!!!! As a result, the cat now has a nice carpeted box in my heated garage, 3 square meals a day, a litter box, and a safe place to sleep. Having lost my dog of 14 years (Shabba) three months ago, maybe I feel a certain void in my animal world. But two cats plus one cat plus maybe.... five more cats???!!!! Anyone one want to adopt a kitten?
More to come

Fix it or Pitch It???????????
Posted:Tuesday, 01/15/2008 at 08:01pm by Brian Middleton
I have a treadmill at home in my basement and I gotta tell ya it serves as a great clothes hanger, or a backstop when my son and I play baseball. I Know, your saying "mine too". Seems like everyone has one, and bought it with great intentions probably from a late night informercial or from the local retailer.....
Hey, I know today things are disposable, but 4 years ago I bought this treadmill that is built into a huge cabinet, Tv inside, sound, the whole deal.. Do I haul this boat anchor out of my basement and buy another? or do I take a shot at fixing the thing!!! Well, my Dad says "If it's broken take it apart and see how it works" .... Long story short, I got a schematic diagram online for the machine and last when I got off the air, I went home to take on the Beast. I had parts laying on the floor, wires that went to ??? Test equipment out, I WAS GONNA
FIX THIS THING>>>>>>> About 4AM, I was reading in the tech manual and it said to make sure a certain plug was in fact plugged in behind the TV unit. I thought about it for a minute and said,, OH NO...... Sure enough, it was unplugged, the unit now works fine, and I kinda look like I know what I doin.. If
I run into on the street, I'll tell you the version of the story about how I was the "ultimate technician" when in fact
I just plugged in a plug....
DON'T BE SO QUICK TO THROW IT AWAY, TRY AND FIX IT FIRST!!!!

A Friend in need
Posted:Tuesday, 01/08/2008 at 10:01am by Brian Middleton
Ya know I must say, I'm kind of selfish... If someone has a problem and I can help, I usually offer. If you think about it, I derive the pleasure for being the problem solver and I guess that makes me selfish in a way, I just like to be the go to guy. I must say however, I don't enjoy it as much when the shoe is on the other foot.... Last night with all the rain, my power went out at home while I was at work.. My back-up sump pump had a dead battery, so I had to make the call to my neighbor to go over and start my back-up generator. Ya see, I hate being the guy to make "the call" for help, it's no fun. I want to be the guy on the other end that helps and solves the problem.... Anyway, he gladly came over, got my pump going, saved the day, you know, the problem solver. Why couldn't have been me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Scott and Terry for all your help, and you won this time, next time it's my turn. It does pay to have friends....
Cheers,
Brian

Too many cats!!!!!
Posted:Thursday, 12/20/2007 at 08:12pm by Brian Middleton
About a month ago I noticed a Black Cat hangin around in my Back yard... At first I thought it was a big squirrel, but no sure enough, a stray cat. I Live in a rural area and it isn't uncommon from time to time to see a stray cat. I'm sure at this point you're saying "awwww adopt the poor cat already" Well I already have two cats, a big dog, fish, basically a petting zoo.
December brings cold temps in the teens and I'm like "no, I'm not giving into the cat" However last week it got to like 8 degrees? The cat's outside crying at 2Am just like in the movies. So I spent 30 minutes that night coaxing the cat into my garage so he wouldn't freeze, wet cat food works every time. I got the cat in the heated garage, he or she is fed and now I'm stuck? NO!!!!!!! For as much as I LOVE animals, I can't have another one. So he has to go to the shelter. I hope he finds a new Home.. So speaking of great gifts ideas!!!!!!
If you're out this weekend by chance at one of the animal Shelters and you come across a solid black cat with big green eyes, would you do me a favor..... Adopt him (or her)
Happy Holidays

Christmas List
Posted:Monday, 12/17/2007 at 10:12pm by Brian Middleton
Ok, the news is full of must DO's to prepare your car for the winter season. I'm all about that, but who wants to spend the money at the dealership... Here is a brief list of some quick things you can do yourself that won't take any time or cost you much money.
1> Change your own wiper blades.. Most people don't want to mess with it cause it looks complicated. It's easy, pinch the plastic part in the middle of the blade as it attaches to the car and it comes off.... easy. Replacements are inexpensive and can be purchased anywhere. They snap on in seconds..
2> Put a blanket in your car... I was driving in the snow Saturday Night after the dance party, what if I ran off the road? how long would it take for someone to find me? A blanket in your car just in case is a must.
3> Don't buy fancy Ice scrapers only to lose them... I use a CD Jewel case, sounds strange but it works.......
4> When you get your oil changed, insist that they check your tire pressure and fill your wiper fluid. Most everybody provides these services, but you have to keep your eye on them to insure they do it..
5> Buy a $25.00 Roadside emergency kit... It will come with flares, jumper cables, Orange triangle, fix a flat, etc...
If you don't have one, buy it, if your friends don't, You've just finished your Christmas shopping......makes a great practical gift...
We all want to get to our destination without any drama especially during the winter months, having the above may help you do just that, if nothing else, you just got some great gift giving ideas....
Happy Holidays,
Brian

Hey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CAN WE TALK FOR A MINUTE???
Posted:Sunday, 12/09/2007 at 09:12pm by Brian Middleton
Just wanted to say.................COULDN'T BE HAPPIER!!!!!
It's Brian Middleton and I COULDN'T BE HAPPIER now that I'm part of the LOVE-FM Family(evenings 7p - 12A). About four months ago, I was at home laying Ceramic tile in my Bathroom on a Saturday Night, turned on the station and said, "This is where I want to be".
The Team here is unlike any other, you WANT to go to work because the people are genuine and everybody wants the station to succeed. What a cool feeling.............
In addition to Hosting the Night Shift, I will also continue to host the Saturday Night Dance Party from 7p-12A. We've assembled a team of guys that will put you in overdrive on Saturday Nights. Wesley the Wiz Kid, Martin Boogie man Luna, Dj Gooch, Rhythm Scholar, and of coarse Tim "Spinnin" Schoomer all have their own unique styles, Turn us on Saturday Nights and see what Chicago is talking about.
If you think about it, you and I use Love-Fm for the same reasons, you turn it on to feel GOOD... So Do I. As some of you may know, I've spent a number of years on the Air in Chicago and feel like I know many of you already. Please give me a call when you can and let's catch up at 312-591-LOVE.
I've got some great Ceramic tile installation techniques to pass along!!!!

Divorced and don't know what to do with wedding pictures...
Posted:Monday, 10/29/2007 at 08:10pm by Mark Sullivan
A friend of mine has been divorced for over five years. Recently she brought up her wedding photos with me. Here are a few questions that puzzle her:
1. She still has the photos but never looks at them?
2. Wonders why she keeps holding on to them?
3. Wonders if she did get rid of them will she have better
relationships?
4. And...how should she get rid of them?
It would be great if you can leave a comment.

A come from behind victory for "Da Bears"
Posted:Monday, 10/08/2007 at 09:10pm by Mark Sullivan
~Wow~ a come from behind win for the Bears. Incredible!!!
After watching the Bears play a couple weekends ago (and losing to the Lions) I decided not to waste my Sundays. So, I didn't watch Bears game, just the highlights on ESPN (which is so much better that sitting around for the whole game). I always did like Cliff Notes!
Now, that the Bears beat the Packers, where do you think “Da Bears” stand
...
Playoffs
?
A rebuilding year
?
Or Super Bowl bound
?
Have a great day!!!

Donald Trump and “The Apprentice” will be back for a 7th season on NBC. This time it’s “Celebrity Apprentice” for charity. Trump invited Rosie O’ Donnell to be on the show but she declined (remember folks it’s Hollywood…you never know???). I came up with a few names that I think would be great for the show:
Bob Barker
Gary Coleman
Tiger Woods
Paris Hilton
Matthew McConaughey
Jon Bon Jovi
That’s my six, who are your six??? Go ahead and post your six...only six!
This might be fun, when the show starts we can look back and see if we picked any of the celebrity’s.
Later – Mark

Do you think? Is it possible? Could this be the year???
Posted:Monday, 07/16/2007 at 09:07pm by Mark Sullivan
I don’t want to jinx the Cubs, but they’re on a hot streak! They’re playing some good baseball on both sides of the field. Do you think? Is it possible? Could this be the year???
What is your take on the Cubs season so far??? Do you think the Cubs can keep up the momentum and make it into the playoffs and beyond???
I would love to see a cross-town series!!! That would be really cool and the city would have an incredible energy!!!
Go Cubs...and Sox!!!
Thanks for listening!

What's your summer's best kept secret...
Posted:Thursday, 07/12/2007 at 07:07pm by Mark Sullivan
Wow...it’s July 11th! Summer is flying by, before long we’ll have snow flying around but there's still more of summer to enjoy. I’d like to share one of my favorite places to go in the summer: The Indiana Dunes, it’s great for everyone! Take your kids and they’ll enjoy running up and down the dunes and splashing in Lake Michigan. It’s also very romantic in the evening when the sun goes down. The park is open till 11pm, so the dunes can be a great place to take your spouse or significant other. Pack a few candles, a big blanket maybe some food n' drinks and you have a perfect date.
Have fun!!!
Do you have a favorite summer hidden treasure? What is it?
Thanks for listening!

“Forbes” magazine just came out with the top money makers this year:
Oprah Winfrey is on the top of the list making around 260 million dollars!!! Tiger Woods made around 100 million dollars and Madonna made 72 million dollars. If you had that much money what would you do with it??? How would you spend it or more importantly how would you give back???

The Blues Fest on Saturday Night...
Posted:Monday, 06/11/2007 at 07:06pm by Mark Sullivan
It was crowded Saturday afternoon at the Chicago Blues Fest in Grant Park. The music at the Blues Fest is always good and they serve up a good selection of blues...old school blues, deep south blues, Chicago blues and a little zydeco blues!!! Irma Thomas was the headliner on Saturday night and was incredible, she did a Bill Withers tune and had the crowd up, dancing and feeling good!!! Food and drink tickets were $7.00 for 11 tickets...a slice of pizza was 8 tickets or about $5.00 or $6.00 and I'm left with 3 tickets??? What can I get with 3 tickets...a pickle on a stick??? No thanks, looks like I have to eat the tickets
. The best food at the Blues Fest was the roasted corn with a little butter and a dash of salt.
I'm looking forward to the Taste of Chicago...
Have a great week!!!

Favorite things about summer...
Posted:Tuesday, 05/29/2007 at 09:05pm by Mark Sullivan
Hello...I’m back from a great 3 day holiday weekend. I was in Minneapolis for a couple of days (Saturday & Sunday) and back in Sweet Home Chicago for Memorial Day.
Minneapolis is such a cool city...it has a great vibe to it and it’s only about an hour by plane or 7 hours by car. A great getaway!!!
Now that summer is kicking in, I jotted down a few of my favorite things about summer...
The hilly green grass in front of Shedd Aquarium & The Field Museum
Sunsets
Playin' my guitar on the beach or in the park
Iced coffee
Fresh fruit
Boats on Lake Michigan
A clear blue sky and a light breeze
The fragrance of sun tanning lotion / oil
Bleachers at Wrigley Field
BBQ’s
Music festivals / Outdoor music
Shorts & Flip – Flops
The Beach / Dunes
Outdoor café’s
Ice cream
Bike rides along the lakefront
Golf
What are your favorite things about summer...?
Have a blessed day!

Did you see the little Cessna airplane make that emergency landing???
Posted:Monday, 05/21/2007 at 11:05pm by Mark Sullivan
Did you see the Cessna aircraft make that emergency landing on the news. It was perfect - thank God! Also, bravo to the pilot!!! I watched it live on a cable news channel, what disturbed me was that they were showing this LIVE on TV. Actually all of the cable news channels had it on. I couldn’t believe it, here’s this pilot dealing with a life or death emergency landing and helicopters are flying around shooting the story.
How do you feel about that?
Ohh yeah, both passengers and dog are fine
!
Have a blessed day!

Gas boycott today (May 15th), did you participate?
Posted:Tuesday, 05/15/2007 at 06:05pm by Mark Sullivan
Through e mails and the internet there is a nation-wide boycott on gas today (May 15th). Did you get gas today? Do you think this works?
When I was driving to work I passed by 3 gas stations and all 3 had no one at the pump. If nothing more a gas boycott sends a message.
I'd love to hear your input.

Weekend plans...
Posted:Thursday, 05/03/2007 at 09:05pm by Mark Sullivan
I can't wait for the weekend!!! The weather should be pretty good, Sunday looks the best (Sunny and in the 70's)...Perfect! On Sunday I'm going to see the Dalai Lama, he's doing (2) talks at Millennium Park, should be pretty cool and interesting.
Here's some other things happening this weekend:
The Cubs are in town all weekend (Friday thru Sunday) all the games start in the afternoon. Sunshine at Wrigley makes for a pretty good day...even better if the Cubs win.
This Saturday is Cinco De Mayo and the Bulls play in Detroit...Go Bulls
! Don't forget to check-out The Saturday Night Dance Party at 7pm with DJJM3.
Ohh, I can't forget "Spiderman 3" kicking off this summers movies. I think I'm going to wait a couple of weeks and see Spiderman 3 in IMAX. I have to be outside this weekend!!!
Have a great weekend!

Have you seen any bad movies???
Posted:Monday, 04/30/2007 at 09:04pm by Mark Sullivan
It was great to see Roger Ebert at his film festival in Champaign - Urbana this past weekend! If you are a fan of cinema and/or Ebert, he has a new book out, "Your Movie Sucks"! Nice, right to the point! Here's a couple of the movies he mentions:
"The Dukes Of Hazzard"
"The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas"
And..."Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo"
What was the movie with Jennifer Lopez & Ben Affleck..."Gigli"...that's on my list. I didn't mind going to get re-fills on my popcorn during that movie
!
What movie would you add to the list?
Have a great day!

Getting in shape for summer...
Posted:Wednesday, 04/25/2007 at 11:04pm by Mark Sullivan
I can't wait...Chicago beaches open on May 25th!
Are you ready for your summer wardrobe: shorts, sleeveless shirts, skirts and your swimsuit? It seems every paper, magazine and TV commercial has a quick fix for that summer body. I don’t think there is a quick fix for that killer summer body and we shouldn’t be working out to look good but to feel good and improve our health. I used to lift weights and do cardio but 7 years ago I was introduced to this simple exercise regimen that improved my mind, body and soul...YOGA! I've been doing Bikram Yoga for the past few years and love it! Yes, it’s the hot yoga, about 105 degree’s in the studio but it's so good for you!!!
Here’s some info about Bikram Yoga
Feel free and share your workout routine...what has worked for you?
Namaste!

This just in...Victoria's Secret has named Justin Timberlake sexiest male musician...huh? This poll must have been taken before American Idol introduced “Sanjaya”! Ladies, is this right? JT is on the top of your list? Come on...can he even play an instrument? Who's in the running for your sexiest male musician???
Here are a few other sexy people:
Carrie Underwood was crowned for sexiest female musician…ok I can see that!
Sexiest couple went to Beyonce & Jay-Z; I think Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony are just a tad bit sexier.
And Southside native Jennifer Hudson ran away with sexiest lips!

It's great to be back on the radio. I was sick last week and ended up spending a couple of days in the hospital. I feel much better and thanks for the well wishes!!! I'd like to bring up donating blood, it's very important and it SAVES LIVES!!! Most people think they don't need to give blood because other people will. That's a problem...we should donate blood if we can!!! I know the person who receives your blood will be grateful!!!
Here's a website to get you started

It’s sad to see Gina Glocksen from Naperville leave American Idol. What an experience for her, singing to millions of viewers, meeting Tony Bennett and making Chicago proud!!! All the best to you Gina!
Now we can move on to "Hair Idol"...
Yes...I’m on the Sanjaya band wagon!!! Let’s go Sanjaya!!!
Have you noticed every time he changes his hair style he is SAFE!!! Sanjaya is in really good position; he could win American Idol but if he doesn’t I’m sure we will see him on TV commercials for Vidal Sassoon
.

My love & hate relationship with Idol
Posted:Wednesday, 03/28/2007 at 11:03pm by Mark Sullivan
OK...Here’s what I like about American Idol:
I love the fact that this show can actually move some of the contestants closer to making their dreams reality.
Here’s what I hate about American Idol:
They audition all these people in different cities where Simon, Paula and Randy have the control to send a singer to “Hollywood”. Then when they narrow it down to “24” contestants they give the control over to teenagers who have a cell phone. I know it’s called “American Idol” but that doesn’t make sense to me??? Can you help me understand???
I really wish the best for Gina Gloksen from Naperville but I think Sanjaya really has a good shot at becoming the next and maybe the last Idol.
Thoughts???

I've never been married but this is a great question....
Posted:Tuesday, 03/27/2007 at 09:03pm by Mark Sullivan
I love this magazine "Tango" it's about relationships: Looking, Taken, Engaged, Married or Starting Over. So, in Tango magazine they asked Jada Pinkett Smith what keeps her marriage to Will Smith alive, healthy and in good condition. Jada's answer: "La Perla almost every night." La Perla is top dollar lingerie
.
So my question is: What keeps your marriage in good condition???
All the best!

The book/movie "The Secret" has been on Oprah,
Posted:Tuesday, 03/27/2007 at 06:03pm by Mark Sullivan
The book/movie "The Secret" has been on Oprah, Larry King, Nightline and Ellen. The book/movie is about the law of attraction. Have you read the book or watched the dvd? Do you believe that your thoughts can attract good or bad things in your life? I'm totally into the Law of Attraction - positive attracts positive, negative attracts negative.
Here's a little about The Secret:
There have always been small select groups of individuals who are aware of how to work in harmony with this natural law of the universe: The Law of Attraction.
This law clearly states you can only attract to you that which is in harmony with you. Everything in the universe vibrates. That is based on the Law of Vibration. That includes your mind and body. Look at your body through a microscope, it is a mass of energy that is moving and vibrating. Your mind controls the vibration you are in at any given moment. You control your mind by the thoughts you choose. No one can cause you to think something you do not want to think. This is where freedom comes in, this is also where the problem begins with most people. They permit what is happening around them to determine how they think. They have become the play-thing for outside forces.
Ninety percent of the population wish positive but think negative. Their negative thoughts puts them in a negative vibration which by law determines what is attracted into their lives. As a creative individual you will continually attract good things into your life by thinking positive thoughts and expecting the best life has to offer. You deserve it.
You should read this 2-5 times a day for it to really sink in...It's just like driving a car, the 1st time you don't get it and have trouble with it but after months and years it's 2nd nature...it takes time to change your thinking!!!
So what do you think about "The Secret" or The Law of Attraction?

For the next day or so The U.S. Olympic Committee
Posted:Tuesday, 03/06/2007 at 11:03pm by Mark Sullivan
For the next day or so The U.S. Olympic Committee is in town evaluating Chicago, if you had to play host to the committee for a day, where would you take them for some good Chicago eats?
This would be my plan:
We would start the day with breakfast at Tempo Café on State & Chestnut; they have great egg skillets, fresh squeezed juice and good coffee.
At about 11:30 or so we’d take the L-train up to Belmont and have a couple of Chicago-style dogs at Murphy’s on Belmont & Racine.
Dinner time in Chicago...there’s nothing better than a good hunk of red meat and no better place than Gibson’s on Rush to get it. Gibson's also serves up tasty lobster bisque.
And I can’t forget about some late night Chicago-style pizza; we’ll swing by Pizano’s on State for a sausage, mushroom & pepperoni pie
.
So where would you take the committee to highlight the incredible food in the Windy City???
Thanks-Mark
