Family vs. the Law
Posted:Thursday, 05/15/2008 at 03:05am by Brian Travis
This question of morality came to me while watching a TV show. What would you do if a relative admitted to you they committed a horrible, possibly life-threatening crime? Would you?

-Do nothing and keep quiet.

OR

-Turn them in.

OR

-Hold it over their heads and blackmail them!

What Else Would They Have Done?
Posted:Thursday, 04/24/2008 at 04:04am by Brian Travis
In a previous blog, I mentioned asking the Rolling Stones what they would have done for a career if the music thing didn't work out? I'm curious to find out what kinds of jobs you would imagine them and other superstar musicians in if their music careers didn't pan out? Roger Daltrey was a sheet metal worker before The Who took off. What do you think Madonna, Prince, Michael and Janet Jackson and others would have done for a living if they were not music superstars? Add a post with the stars and their possible jobs in the comment section.

Gas Tank Blues
Posted:Thursday, 04/24/2008 at 04:04am by Brian Travis
According to AAA and the Oil Price Information service, gasoline prices are averaging $3.51 a gallon nationwide (closer to $4 a gallon here in Chicago), and crude oil prices are just under $120 a barrel.

Every one is feeling the pinch from these prices across the economic spectrum, but have you changed your driving habits as a result? A colleague of mine recently ditched a gas guzzling SUV for a much more fuel efficient car. Do you plan to do the same? Are you looking at hybrids? Do you go out of your way to find the cheapest gas prices? Will you travel by car for summer vacation? Are you taking public transit more than you have previously? On the other hand, are you still driving like you always have, and just grit your teeth at the pump? Tell us how you're dealing with the gas tank blues!!

Invasion of the Body Scanners
Posted:Tuesday, 04/22/2008 at 05:04am by Brian Travis
I read in the paper where airports in NYC and L.A. are the latest to be equipped with body scanners that peer beneath a passenger's clothes to detect concealed weapons. Electromagnetic waves help to produce a computerized image of a traveler's body.

Do you think this is too creepy? I know that you can't get enough security these days, but this might be a little too personal. What do you think?

-Hey, it's the price we pay for safety!

OR

-"They" have gone too far!

OR

-How do we really know it's only a "computerized image"?

Whom and What?
Posted:Wednesday, 04/09/2008 at 01:04am by Brian Travis
Matthew McConaughey reportedly has been offered the title role in a movie remake of "Magnum P.I."

Whom would YOU cast for Magnum and the other characters? How about Anthony Hopkins as Higgins and Chris Tucker as T.C.? What other '80s TV shows would you bring to the silver screen, and whom would you cast in the key parts? Would you set the movie back in the day, or make it present day? Get outrageous!! Let the script ideas and casting begin!!!
